Buying iRiver Armband for T10 MP3 Player

Over All Rating Reviews :
The iRiver pops easily into the holder and stays there. I like the angle at which the iRiver faces while in the holder because it allows you to easily adjust the volume or change tracks without twisting it away from your arm to see the controls.

Order SportBand with case for iPod Video, Microsoft Zune, & Creative Zen Vision: M - Navy Blue

Over All Rating Reviews :
I purchased this item for a different kind of player that I purchased from Amazon. However, just by looking at the picture, it helped me to decide that this was the band I wanted. I got the product very quickly from the seller, and have used it ever since. It is a well made product, and worth the money.

Is an iPod the Best Mp3 Player Choice?

Apple is incredibly dominant in the mp3 player market - it has over 80% of the US market for example. Why is this?

Firstly because iPods still lead the way for music playing capabilities - most independent reviews say they just sound great. Secondly, the iTunes is the best music management software. On top of that, the iTunes music store is the easiest to use and has the greatest choice.

And last but certainly not least iPods are just such amazingly sexy devices!

The iPod model range changes regularly.

iPod touch
The latest iPod is the iPod Touch. The iPod touch has the incredible touch screen user interface, plus it feels sexy in your hand, thanks to its amazingly thin, contoured enclosure made of polished stainless steel. The iPod touch provides up to 36 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback (which is enough to watch three or four movies between charges).

It also has a built-in speaker so you can listen to the music, dialogue, and action without headphones, perfect for casual listening.

iPod Classic
The iPod classic comes with 120GB of internal disk storage, which equates to 30,000 songs, 150 hours of video, or 25,000 photos. It is available in silver or striking new black and now has an upgraded all-metal enclosure composed of anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel.

You can also use the new Apple Remote with an optional iPod Universal Dock to control your music, videos and slideshows. There is of course a huge range of third party accessories with similar capabilities to the Apple ones - sometimes even better than Apple's and often at lower prices.

iPod nano
Apple's tagline for the nano is "impossibly small" and it certainly is incredibly small and light. It is currently available in 8GB and 16GB sizes, which hold about 2,000 and 4,000 songs respectively.

The nano has a colour display, so you can view album art as you play your music. The sexy feature taken from the iPod touch - give your iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to another song in your library - thanks to the built-in accelerometer.

Because it is so small and light, Apple emphasises the nano's wearability. You can easily wear it around your neck or keep it on an armband.

iPod shuffle
The shuffle is the entry level iPod model and is even smaller than the iPod nano - about the size of a pack of gum and weighs less than a car key.

The shuffle doesn't have a display so its playlist control is fairly basic - play, pause, skip, repeat, hold and shuffle (random).

Like other iPod models the shuffle has been upgraded to use anodized aluminum and is available in blue, green, pink, red, and original silver

It is easy to hook up to a computer - just plug it directly into a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port, or use an optional Dock. You can sync a specific iTunes Playlist, or drag and drop individual songs or albums from iTunes into the iPod shuffle. The shuffle also automatically charges during syncing.

Summary
Apple still holds a clear lead over other mp3 music player vendors. The iPods sets the pace in most aspects - storage, packaging, sex appeal and now even price. There is a huge 3rd party add on market that gives the iPod owner a wide choice of accessories.

Really, from the position it now has, Apple has to make big mistakes or just get complacent to lose its #1 market position.

Zune 120 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) Free Shipping

Over All Rating Reviews :
I've had a Zune80 for a year or so. Now this was for my teenage son. We now share the ZunePass. We listen to different music and each have our own unlimited supply. It really works out nicely. I was a little concerned that the software would get our libraries mixed up, but no problem at all. Thankfully, I don't have to listen to his noise...er music. I'm sure he's happy not to be dealing with my YO Yo Ma tracks!

I know this is supposed to be a review of the Zune120. The truth is that the real value proposition for the Zune right now is the subscription model and the fact that its ok to share the pass within the family under one roof.

If you like to listen to varied music and somthing new all the time, and there's a few of you in the household, this is definitely the way to go.

Apple IPod Mini Reviews

When models of devices like the ipod shrink, you can be sure their features are as good as those of their bigger-size predecessors if not better. The general tendency in modern design, whether it is about furniture or labour-saving devices is to reduce the space such items need in order to function. Who wants to cram the house with huge elements that will never do more than their smaller counterparts can? This is true for fashion accessories like wrist-watches, handbags and many more. Why load your pockets and shoulders for no reason?

The Apple iPod Mini, which is sized and priced between the original iPod and lower-capacity flash players, retains many of the features that its larger 'brother' provides. Weighing no more than 3.6 ounces, it is also a very small player (3.6/2.0/0.5 inches HWD) compared to the original iPod which was about the size of a deck of cards. Its hard drive capacity of 4GB can hold about 1,000 songs. If you are into tiny technology, the Apple iPod Mini is your perfect choice but if you want a higher song capacity, you had better go for something else. Moreover, the price of the Mini iPod is far too high for the memory it offers.

The modifications that the original Apple iPod underwent for the Mini model to be launched include the controls as well; the four buttons were relocated underneath the click wheel which makes the device easier to handle with just a thumb. The much smaller LCD display is still readable though it has been reduced by 0.3 inches diagonally.

The battery life extends to almost eight hours which is not bad at all but the battery is not user-replaceable; the replacement service offered by Apple or third-parties will take care of that for the time being.

The Apple iPod Mini is very resistant to dirt and grime due to its anodized aluminium body and comes in a variety of metallic colours, with a simple belt clip and no wired remote. It is available with both a FireWire and OSB 2.0 cable which allows you to charge it over the USB connection.

Whether you have a Windows PC or a Mac, you can view your library by album, artist, play-list, song very easily. The Apple iPod Mini can also store various information and provides four preloaded games for you to have fun: Solitaire, Brick, Music Quiz and Parachute. However, the strongest point is probably the excellent iTunes 4 music management software from Apple.

There is nothing you would not dare do while keeping the Mini upon you. The neoprene armband will hold the unit securely while you are jogging or doing other similar activities. The skip protection will take care that your audition is always flawless.

Owners of the Apple iPod Mini don't seem to be very enthusiastic about the in-ear headphones. Though they come in three different size caps to fit anyone's ears, their sound completely lacks in bass and is rather shallow. Yet, the unit is very stylish and has already a lot of fans worldwide.

Zune 120 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) Order Now

Over All Rating Reviews :
I have owned several mp3 players over the past five years, and yes, none of them have been an iPod. I have used the original iPod, iPod and iPhone Touch, but have NOT owned these so wouldn't be familiar with day to day issues and hassles with those.

that said, i have to give the device the stars because it meets my criteria and didn't cost me an arm and a leg the iPhone would have. I wanted to
1) store all my music, photos and maybe a few videos. all this adds up to around 60 gigs, so ended up going with a higher capacity device.
2) wirelessly sync my collection
3) listen to the radio if / when i got bored of listening to my collection.

It does all of these things very well.

What i don't like about it (or in other words, things that prevent me from giving this device 5 stars):

1) the Zune software eats up all processor cycles when syncing. my prior media players synced with windows media player and that didn't seem to bog down the processor as much. Also, i find Zune's (pc software) interface a little confusing as i can't easily tell which song / file is being synced and how much is done. WMP seemed to have a nicer indicator per song (in sync results).

2) no side volume controls. i typically use this device in the gym. controlling the volume becomes a pain because it can only be done by the squicircle. if capacitive controls are enabled, i have to stop what i'm doing, take out the device from the arm pouch and then lower the volume. the gigabeat i owned earlier had dedicated volume buttons on the side that i could use with one hand. Same is the case with the iPhone (not the iPod Touch) and my new Palm Pre.

3) non-standard (proprietary) connector. we can thank the iPod for starting this trend and microsoft for foolishly aping it and departing from standardization. this means you need to spend extra to obtain charging cables and car adapters. Compare to the Palm Pre (as a player in this regard) that has a standard micro-usb cable. Though in all fairness, the iPod suffers from this same problem (proprietary connector) as well.

In my weighting, i discount the negatives of 2 and 3 above because i knew these before i bought the device. they would've been nice to have, but i knew going in that i wouldn't be getting these with this device, but still i do mention that in case it is a deal-breaker for others still researching and reading reviews.

Positive experiences:

1) the Zune software is simply very neat when it comes to retrieving song information! it amazed me that it got information for a lot of foreign mp3s (and several of them inconsistently id3-tagged) quickly and correctly! i was also able to very easily search for relevant artist / song and apply album information to the song in question.

2) when playing songs on PC, the Zune draws up impressive graphics and trivia about the artist / song playing. it looks very artsy and neat and the total effect i found was very pleasing.

these features impressed some of my friends who're hardcore itunes believers (though not enough to ditch their apple devices).
